How To Identify A Male Harlequin Duck
Males have two thick, white lines that go from their beak to their forehead
They have a spot behind each eye.
They have a white line behind each of the two eye-spots.
They have a white ring that goes around their neck.
They have one white stripe to the left of the white neck ring, and one to the right.
They have a big, red splotch under each wing.
They have white lines and spots on their wings and back, but the pattern differs from bird to bird.
They’re bluish-black.

Females have a white splotch on each cheek
They have a white spot above and below each eye.
They’re brown
They have a white underside
Their underside has brown speckles all over it.
