Work with Us
Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge employment and volunteer opportunities are split between two locations: work in remote areas of the refuge and office projects in our Fairbanks headquarters. Typically, the refuge hires 1-2 full-time, permanent employees each year, depending upon staff turnover and available funding. In addition, several people are needed for short-term periods each year to assist with projects such as waterfowl studies, botanical surveys, and environmental education. Volunteers and interns do assist with projects in the office and field.
Those interested in working with the refuge are encouraged to contact the refuge. For opportunities with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska visit the Alaska Region.
