Waterfowl
Mallard

Mallards,
the most familiar of ducks, have adapted well to man's urban environment. It appears,
however, that ready food sources created by well-meaning people throwing bread
have caused these particular birds to spend the winter further north than they
should have. Without supplemental food supplies, these birds would probably have
migrated from Alaska to California.
