Celebrating 75 Years of America’s Most Successful
Conservation Partnership

States are our key partners for the management and restoration of fish and game across this country. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game annually receives $35 million for management of fish and wildlife in Alaska through excise taxes paid by hunters, anglers, boaters and shooters. It's a cycle of success where the users pay and the public benefits through healthy wildlife populations. “I proudly pay the 11% excise tax on the archery equipment I purchase for bowhunting across Alaska" said Amy Pinney, ADF&G's coordinator for Wildlife Restoration. "The ample hunting and fishing opportunities in Alaska are part of the reason why my family settled here. I feel good knowing that by purchasing hunting equipment, I am contributing to the valuable wildlife conservation work statewide which helps to sustain wildlife populations for the future enjoyment of all Americans.”
