Southwest Alaska Sea Otters - Draft Recovery Plan

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) listed the southwest Alaska Distinct Population Segment (DPS) of the northern sea otter (Enhydra lutris kenyoni) as threatened in October 2005 (70 FR 46366), pursuant to section 4 of the Endangered Species Act (ESA). In October 2009, the Service designated critical habitat for this DPS (74 FR 51988).

In March 2006, the Service convened a Recovery Team to develop a Draft Recovery Plan for this DPS.  The draft plan is now available for public review and comment.
