Regional Council Member Appointment Process Overview
| mid September through 1st week of January |
Open period to apply. Outreach begins at fall Regional Advisory Council meetings and continues through
December. |
| October | Mass mailing of application packets state wide. |
| November-December | Statewide advertising |
| mid January-mid June | Interview and evaluate applicants. Federal Subsistence Board makes recommendations to Secretaries of the Interior and of Agriculture. |
| late June-October | Secretaries review applicants and consider the Board's recommendations. |
| October/November | Secretary of the Interior announces appointments. |
