Refuge Maps

Users without GIS software: The digital boundary data files depict the official legislative refuge boundaries for Alaska National Wildlife Refuges. They were compiled using computers running the Geographic Information System (GIS) software ARC/INFO from Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) and were compiled based on information obtained from various legal documents. (See metadata). The pictures (.jpgs) provided are cartographic representations of the different refuge boundaries.

Users with GIS software: Boundaries are NAD83 decimal degrees or NAD27 albers 154, the Metadata is in html format. The .E00 files are in standard USFWS data exchange format which is the same as ESRI's standard data exchange format and is readable by most GIS software packages.
